TURF WARZ
COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Effective Date: March 18, 2026
Welcome to Turf Warz
Turf Warz is built on a simple idea: walking your dog should be more fun, more social, and more rewarding. Our community is made up of dog owners who share that belief. These Community Guidelines exist to make sure that every member of that community — and every dog — has a safe, fair, and enjoyable experience.
These Guidelines apply to everything you do within the Service: how you play, how you interact with other users, what you post to the social feed, and how you conduct yourself in the real world while using the app. They are incorporated into our Terms of Service and violations may result in warnings, content removal, suspension, or permanent termination of your account.
If you see something that violates these Guidelines, please report it using the in-app reporting tools. We review all reports and take action based on our policies.
1. Be Respectful to People
Turf Warz is a real-world game. The people you compete with, challenge, and encounter are real. Treat them accordingly.
What we expect:
- Treat all users with courtesy and respect, both within the app and in the real world during gameplay
- Do not harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate any other user, whether through in-app features or by following or confronting them in person
- Do not share or reveal another user’s personal information — including their name, address, phone number, or location — without their explicit consent
- Do not engage in coordinated harassment of any user or pack, including mass-reporting, brigading, or organizing others to target a specific person
- Do not use the rival or competitive features of the app as a pretext for real-world harassment or intimidation
- If another player disputes your territory through normal gameplay, that is part of the game. Taking that dispute into the real world is not
- Block and report users who harass you. Do not engage
What we do not allow:
- Hate speech, slurs, or content that demeans or attacks people based on race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, body type, age, or any other protected characteristic
- Sexual content of any kind directed at any user
- Any sexual content involving or directed at minors under any circumstances
- Impersonating another user, pack, or real-world person or entity
- Threats of violence or harm against any person
2. Be Responsible in the Real World
Turf Warz takes place outside. That means your gameplay affects real spaces, real neighborhoods, and real people who may have no idea what you’re doing or why.
What we expect:
- Stay aware of your surroundings at all times while playing. Keep your eyes up, especially near traffic, intersections, and other hazards
- Respect public and private spaces. Do not enter any area where you do not have permission to be
- Do not trespass on private property under any circumstances, even if the app displays gameplay elements there
- Follow all local laws and ordinances, including leash laws, waste disposal requirements, noise ordinances, and park rules
- Do not use the app while driving, cycling, or operating any vehicle
- Be courteous to bystanders who are not playing the game. Not everyone near you knows what Turf Warz is
- If a location feels unsafe, leave immediately. No gameplay objective is worth your safety or your dog’s safety
What we do not allow:
- Using the app to enter or justify entering restricted, dangerous, or unauthorized locations
- Using the app in a manner that creates a hazard for yourself, your dog, or others
- Using the app while operating a motor vehicle
- Attempting to claim territory at speeds inconsistent with walking or jogging
3. Take Care of Your Dog
Your dog is your partner in this game. Their safety and wellbeing come before any gameplay objective, always.
What we expect:
- Keep your dog on a leash in all public spaces unless you are in a designated off-leash area
- Ensure your dog has access to water and rest during walks, especially in hot or cold weather
- Respect the in-app rest reminders, weather alerts, and session length warnings. They are there for your dog’s benefit
- Do not push your dog beyond their physical limits for the sake of gameplay, points, or leaderboard position
- Clean up after your dog. Always
- Respect other people’s dogs and animals during walks. Not every dog wants to interact, and not every owner wants their dog approached
- If your dog has a history of aggression or has injured a person or animal, it is your responsibility to take appropriate precautions before walking in areas where you may encounter other people or dogs
What we do not allow:
- Using the app in a manner that endangers your dog or any other animal
- Posting content that depicts or encourages animal abuse, neglect, or harm of any kind
- Misrepresenting your dog’s temperament or history in your dog profile if doing so creates risk for others
4. Keep It Fair
The game is only fun if it’s fair. Cheating doesn’t just affect your experience — it degrades the experience for every legitimate player in your neighborhood.
What we do not allow:
- GPS spoofing, location falsification, or any other method of faking your physical location or movement
- Using bots, scripts, automated tools, or unauthorized third-party software to interact with the Service
- Fabricating or falsifying territory marks, walk data, or any other gameplay activity
- Creating multiple accounts to gain competitive advantage
- Exploiting bugs or unintended features of the Service. If you find one, report it to [email protected] — don’t use it
- Buying, selling, or transferring accounts or in-app items
- Coordinating with other players to manipulate leaderboards, territory outcomes, or competitive rankings in ways that violate the spirit of fair play
If you are found cheating, your account will be suspended or permanently terminated. Depending on the severity, your entire pack may be affected.
5. Keep the Social Feed a Good Place
The social feed is for celebrating walks, sharing dog photos, and connecting with your community. Keep it that way.
What we expect:
- Post content that is genuine, walk-related, and dog-focused
- Be positive and supportive in comments. Constructive rivalry is welcome. Cruelty is not
- Only post content that you own or have the right to share
- Respect other people’s dogs and their owners in your posts and comments
What we do not allow:
- Spam, repetitive posts, or content designed to artificially inflate engagement
- Advertising, promotional content, or solicitations of any kind without our prior written consent
- Content that is hateful, abusive, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise objectionable
- Content that violates any third party’s intellectual property rights
- Content that discloses another user’s personal information without their consent
- Misinformation or deliberately false content about other users, dogs, or packs
- Reviews or reports of other users that are fabricated or not based on genuine experience
6. Pack Leader Responsibilities
If you lead a Pack, you take on additional responsibility for the conduct of your community.
What we expect from Pack Leaders:
- Ensure your pack name, banner, and description comply with these Guidelines
- Actively moderate your pack’s conduct and address behavior that violates these Guidelines
- Do not use your pack to organize coordinated harassment, cheating, or any other activity that violates these Guidelines or our Terms of Service
- If you step down or become inactive, transfer leadership to an active member rather than leaving the pack without a leader
Pack Leaders are responsible for their pack’s conduct within the Service. Packs whose members engage in systematic violations of these Guidelines may be dissolved and members may face individual account action.
7. Protecting Minors
- Users under 13 may only use the Service through a family account managed by a parent or legal guardian
- No sexual content of any kind may be directed at or involve any user under 18
- Do not attempt to solicit personal information from any minor user
- If you become aware of any content or behavior that puts a minor at risk, report it immediately using the in-app reporting tools or contact us at [email protected]
8. How We Enforce These Guidelines
We use a combination of automated systems, user reports, and human review to identify and act on violations of these Guidelines.
Actions we may take include:
- Issuing a warning
- Removing content
- Temporarily restricting access to specific features
- Suspending your account
- Permanently terminating your account
- Dissolving a pack
- Reporting to law enforcement where required by law
The severity of our response will generally reflect the severity of the violation. Some violations — including any content that sexualizes minors, credible threats of violence, and extreme cheating — will result in immediate permanent termination without warning.
We will not disclose information about reports, enforcement actions, or the identity of reporting users to other users.
Appeals
If you believe your content was removed or your account was actioned in error, you may appeal by contacting us at [email protected] with the subject line “Community Guidelines Appeal.” We will review appeals in good faith but our decisions are final.
Reporting
To report a violation, use the in-app report button on any post, comment, profile, or territory. You may also contact us directly at [email protected]. We take all reports seriously. Misuse of the reporting system to harass other users is itself a violation of these Guidelines.
9. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Guidelines from time to time. We will notify you via in-app notification when we make material changes. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Guidelines.
